About

Funfact: Elliot was going to be an original character before I scrapped them but they ended up staying as a self-insert for Dialtown instead.

I don't know what you would call it but the Dialtown world is actually quite interesting if you read the developers tumblr posts about it. I had initially assumed it was just that people had their head replaced and that was it but there is a whole lot of history thought out and it's fun to learn. That isn't what made me make a self-insert but it's fun to think how a character can come about because of the worlds 'rules'.

Dialtown is one of my fav games, and it really helped me through some tough times. It is one of my main interests and will remain to be for a long while but there was a period of time where it was all I could think about. I ended up making Elliot as a self-insert to cope with the brainrot at the time and I think their fun :))

Bio

Elliot barely scrapes enough money together to keep renting their very shit apartment. It's cramped, has a mouldy smell coming from somewhere and their neighbours suck.

They refuse to work for anyone and sell their art to make ends meat, however, very few people buy it since all they draw are very depressed clowns. The few who buy their art are so called "horror" fans. While Elliot isn't happy that their art is being classed as horror, they can't really deny the revenue from it.

They are quite defensive over their work. if provoked, they'll start ranting about how no-one understands their vision or the deeper meaning of their work with the clowns representing 'society' and how 'we are all jesters in the circus of life' or something like that... It's unkown how they got their eccentric tastes.

As a teen, they replaced their typewriter head with a magnetic drawing pad and while it was fun for a few months, now that they're twenty, it's lost its charm.

You'll find them either at the art gallery in Karen's route or at the park. The few encounter's they've had with gingi have been quite hostile, with gingi demanding they stop drawing clowns or just straight up stealing their art supplies to stop them. Elliot is a lil' scared of gingi but mostly intrigued, if they didn't have such opposing views then maybe they could get along. They also go to the cinema quite alot, being friendly acquaintances with Oliver but never stopping to actually talk with the dude. They actually go to the park to watch Randy wrangle swans, the whole situation provides alot of inspiration for their work for Randy is 'the most foolish of all' which could be a compliment or an insult coming from them tbh.

If they had a route, I'd think the main jist would be changing the way they perceive the world. Encouraging them to step out their comfort zone and explore new things/ concepts, rather forcefully if its gingi in charge. They'd go from believing the world is full of arseholes to the world is full of arseholes but some people are okay you just got to meet them :))

I think it would be funny if they drew a happy clown, trying to show that their view of the world has changed but end up being absolutely terrified of it, ceasing to draw clowns ever again from that point on.
